Launch of the Sustainability Phase for the Psychological Adaptation Skills Program in Crises and Emergencies: Commencement of Training New Groups of Teachers and Counselors in Jordanian Schools

September - Recognizing the importance of the role of teachers and school counselors in providing appropriate psychosocial support to students in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Queen Rania Teacher Academy resumes its programs to support and enhance the capabilities of this group in close partnership with the Ministry of Education.

In this context, and as a continuation of the success achieved by the Psychological Adaptation Skills Program in Crises and Emergencies in Jordanian Schools, and in response to the specialized needs for training a core national team of members from the Educational Counseling Department and educational supervisors to transfer the training mission to them, a "Train the Trainer" sessions was held to empower them with the theoretical framework of training, effective practical performance, adult learning theories, and the development of skills in technological applications that assist in its delivery.

This training is an essential part of the sustainability phase of the program, enabling participants to begin leading field training and initiating the training of new groups of teachers and school counselors. This will provide rich learning opportunities for school staff, including teachers, counselors, and school principals in the field of mental health and psycho-social support which will be achieved by building school learning communities to become a social support network contributing to the social and mental well-being of students, helping them acquire the necessary psychological adaptation skills to integrate into the learning environment in light of new learning standards.

It is worth noting that the program aims to enable participants to understand concepts related to comprehensive mental well-being and its components. It also aims to develop educators' ability to enhance students' psychological adaptation skills during crises and emergencies, raise awareness of the concept of emotional intelligence and its applications in the education process, and understand the habits of the mind and their applications in education. Additionally, it aims to develop the ability to plan to create a positive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment through appreciating the importance of psychological adaptation integration into the learning environment.

This program is implemented through a blended, synchronous, and asynchronous approach, including assessment tasks presented by trainees through an achievement portfolio at the end of the training program.
