Dr. Osama Obeidat

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Osama brings more than 25 years of experience in education quality, policy, evaluation, and reform, among other areas. Before joining QRTA in 2019, Osama worked for 6 years as the Director of the school inspection at Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge. Osama worked as an Associate Professor of educational management and policy at the Hashemite University in Jordan.

Throughout his career, Osama consulted for several local and international organizations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, EDT, Ministries of Education in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Rwanda, and Iraq.

Osama holds a Ph.D. in  International and Development Education from the University of Pittsburgh and a Certificate in Evaluation Practices from George Washington University as well as an Executive Leadership Certificate from INSEAD Business School.


Abdelmajeed Shamlawi

Executive Director of Strategic Affairs

Abdelmajeed Shamlawi has more than 20 years of experience in developing and implementing strategies on organizational and sector levels. Over the past five years, Mr. Shamlawi has been focusing on developing and growing programs and projects at the Queen Rania Teacher Academy through his strategic development role, in addition to integrating technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship into Education, his role has been key in developing and maintaining QRTA Strategic Plan and growing QRTA portfolio, partnerships and alliances, and programs in Jordan and the region, and hence enhancing the sustainability of the organization.

 

 


 

Rola Said

Director of Programs 

During her four years at QRTA, Rola led the Teacher Education Professional Diploma and took the role of the Quality Assurance Lead.  She is an experienced subject head and classroom practitioner with a successful record of teaching mathematics for over 25 years.  She won the Cambridge Queen Rania Outstanding Teacher Award and is an accredited International Trainer and Examiner with CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education).  Rola took part in reviewing the content of the online mathematics curriculum on EDRAAK Platform.  Rola is always driven with her passion to help the marginalized and vulnerable youth through voluntary work.  She obtained her master’s degree in Education from Framingham State College in the US.  Stemming from her belief in continuous professional development, Rola obtained her fellowship in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education Middle East Professional Learning Initiative and obtained the Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership from HGSE in 2019. 


Nabila Bashir 

Business Development and Promotion Director

Nabila Bashir is the Director of Business Development and Growth at Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) in Jordan, with more than 20 years of experience in leading and implementing projects in education, leadership, teaching, accreditation, and EdTech. She is an evaluator for The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) from the USA and an international examiner from Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) for Computer Science.

Deploys corporate strategies and tactics to external partners via the development of proposals, promotional planning and implementation, program development based on customer-centric requirements. Brings voices of partners, customers, and educators to cross-functional teams/projects and provides key input into program development. A member of the Senior Leadership Team and the Chair of the Technology, eLearning and Innovation in Teaching and Learning Committee.

Out of 3,500 nominees, she was chosen as a Techwomen fellow to represent Jordan in Silicon Valley as one of the leading women in STEM in 2018. Due to her work in education and technology, she was awarded the “Queen Rania Outstanding Teacher Cambridge Award” in 2012. She was a member of the team to design the National Framework for the computer science K-12 curriculum in Jordan in 2019.

In 2022, she completed the Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership (CAEL) from Harvard Graduate School Education. She has Master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies in Education from the State University of New York (SUNY) and has a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Jordan. She is a Middle East Professional Learning (MEPLI) fellow from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

In 2020, she was featured by the Women in Business Arabia Group among 365 women leaders in the Arab World #WIBA365. She enjoys voluntary work with the youth and led many initiatives with students such as Habitat for Humanity, Tekyat Em Ali- Food packaging & distribution, and King Hussein Cancer Centre– Run for Life Initiatives.
