Educating for Tomorrow: Cultivating Citizenship and Values in a Changing World

25–26 October 2025

In a rapidly changing world, global citizenship and community resilience stand as pillars of a hopeful and sustainable future. Education emerges as a powerful force for good—one that empowers a new generation of learners to become globally aware, socially responsible, and actively engaged in shaping their communities.

Today, education is no longer just about delivering knowledge; it is a transformative platform that enables learners to think critically, act ethically, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

With this vision in mind, the Queen Rania Teacher Academy Forum 2025 brings together educators, policymakers, and researchers in a collaborative space to explore how education can cultivate values, nurture citizenship, and drive lasting impact.

QRTA is pleased to invite you to take part in its 2025 Forum under the title:

Call For Proposal

On October 25, the forum will feature a series of interactive online workshops led by experienced educators. These workshops will provide an interactive space for educators to exchange insights, share best practices, and inspire one another. We invite you to be part of this inspiring event to share your expertise and innovative practice, projects, or initiatives by submitting a proposal to lead a workshop under one of the following themes:

Active Civic Engagement

This theme centers on empowering students to become engaged members of their communities and the world. It welcomes proposals that showcase the integration of service learning and volunteerism into educational settings for fostering civic engagement and moral education. It also seeks examples of global education initiatives that promote intercultural understanding, empathy, and collaborative problem-solving across borders.

Education for Sustainable Development - ESD

This theme explores how learners can play a transformative role in building a sustainable society addressing its three key dimensions environmental, social, and economic. It invites proposals that showcase innovative educational practices and initiatives that promote sustainability and empower students with the knowledge and skills to contribute to a greener future. It also emphasizes environmental citizenship, encouraging learners to take active roles in protecting the planet through informed decision-making, advocacy, and community involvement.

Digital Citizenship

In an increasingly connected world, digital literacy, responsibility, and ethics are essential. This theme focuses on the ethical and responsible use of technology, highlighting the importance of teaching students how to navigate digital spaces safely and thoughtfully. Proposals should explore strategies for fostering digital citizenship, including topics such as online ethics, digital rights and responsibilities of users, and respectful communication in virtual environments.

Teaching & Learning (T&L)

This theme explores how teaching, curriculum design, and learning activities can be leveraged to promote critical thinking and social responsibility within students’ cultural contexts, to strengthen civic values. This track invites proposals that highlight best practices in integrating values and citizenship into teaching strategies and curriculum design. It focuses on how educators can embed values such as participation, and community awareness into everyday learning. It also seeks proposals that explore how schools can act as hubs for grassroots initiatives and community involvement.

Leadership

This theme is designed for school leaders who are committed to fostering civic engagement within and beyond the school. It also welcomes sessions focused on building leadership and advocacy skills among educators, empowering them to drive long-term societal impact, lead initiatives that connect students with the local community, and manage the evaluation of citizenship projects, including assessing their impact on students’ knowledge and skill development.
