In doing so, the academy became the first educational organization in Jordan and the third in the Arab World to obtain the CAEP accreditation, not to mention this bolstered our standing as a unique provider of this model of equipping teachers with all that is new and beneficial so they may deal with the practical field better prepared.”

In turn, the President of the University of Jordan, H.E. Prof. Dr.Nathier Obeidat, commented, “The University of Jordan is immensely proud of the qualitative advancements brought on by QRTA within the local and regional education sector. This solidified the academy’s standing as a distinguished institution that outputs qualified teachers and school principals capable of instigating real change in the philosophy, methodology, and outcomes of learning and teaching among its graduates, thus giving rise to students who can learn effectively and think critically. Additionally, the educators are taught to create a learning environment that achieves the right balance between system and openness, so they may better communicate with students and help them explore within and outside the classroom. These teachers set goals with their students and help them achieve the objectives outlined by educational programs and plans.”

The graduation ceremony also showcased a video presentation featuring the graduates and their colleagues describing the positive impact of the TEPD and AILPD, in addition to a thank you message from QRTA to the graduates and a slideshow of the graduate photos.

TEPD encourages teachers to view the educational environment not only as a classroom, but rather as a source of creativity, leadership and intellectual curiosity.

TEPD comprises subjects in the general pedagogies of teaching and learning and in subject-specific pedagogies and ensures the practical application of theoretical frameworks so teachers can provide their students with the skills and knowledge necessary to build a generation that contributes to society and the nation. Participants are also trained to manage the learning environment as a space to elevate the competencies and capabilities of students.

Meanwhile, AILPD consist of four main modules - curriculum, instruction, and assessment; supervision, evaluation, and professional learning for continuous improvement; building a positive school climate and culture; and school and program management to support individual and organizational effectiveness.

AILPD aims to provide instructional leaders  with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead their schools effectively and improve the quality of learning and teaching. Such efforts are at the core of the diploma’s objectives, which center around the instructional core that links the pillars of the teaching learning process (teacher, student, and curriculum).

The AILPD is based on the professional development curriculum in cooperation with the University of Connecticut (UCONN) and implemented by QRTA. The diploma is seeking to make essential changes in leadership practices through including the best international practices in instructional leadership.
