Arabic Language Programs

Ta’seeso program is a comprehensive professional development program designed to empower kindergarten (KG) teachers. This program blends theory and practice, offering a holistic approach to equipping KG teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary for fostering the holistic development of children in KGs.&nbsp;This program is designed to foster play-based learning and promote social-emotional learning. It empowers teachers with the theoretical foundations and practical tools needed to actively engage through their daily schedules and routines.&nbsp;This approach ensures that KG teachers are not only well-informed but also proficient in translating their knowledge into effective teaching strategies, ultimately benefiting the learning experiences of children in kindergarten.&nbsp;The program is structured into two main modules, each comprising four topics. It adopts a blended learning approach, combining online asynchronous sessions with one synchronous session weekly, in addition to in-person sessions.

It also delves into utilizing digital compasses, Global Positioning System (GPS), atlases, and wall maps to enhance students' spatial awareness and improve the teaching and learning processes.&nbsp;

Mapping Technology  

The aim of this workshop is the differentiate between ethics, values, and culture.it will offer teachers the best practices on how to engage students in issues related to ethics and values, and how to teach these concepts in exclusive and non-exclusive ways in the classroom.The workshop will also focus on the importance of the roe of teacher as role model to students showing how the impact of teachers attitude and behavior on their students of different ages. The most important aim in this workshop will be to develop a proper approach to engage students in positive values that impact on the society.

Teaching and Learning Values: Strategies and Practices

The aim of this course is to deepen educators' understanding of the assessment process in social studies, including the structure of assessment strategies and the development of assessment tools. The course will encourage educators to consider how diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments can support learning. It will cover the process of asking questions and developing high-order thinking skills through questioning. Additionally, the course will delve into analyzing student work and reflecting on effective methods of correction that promote higher levels of thinking. Educators will also design lesson plans that incorporate practical teaching and learning aspects aligned with the requirements of their curriculum.

Assessment and Planning in Social Studies 

This course aims to introduce educators to fundamental and contemporary social studies skills. Skills are an integral part of teaching and learning social studies. There are three types of skills in social studies that every educator needs to teach their students: observation and monitoring skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and the skills to read tables, charts, and graphs (specialized skills in social studies). The course will focus on how to teach and learn these skills. These skills are not only important in social studies, but they are also crucial in daily life situations. Communication skills and interpersonal skills are key factors in building harmonious relationships with others, while observation skills involve gathering, analyzing, and applying information. Reading charts, tables, and graphs is a part of social studies, involving interpretation and prediction. Hence, all these skills are integrated into the fundamental social studies skills that educators must master.&nbsp;

The objectives of these two courses are to highlight the importance of distinguishing between ethics, values, culture, citizenship, and social responsibility. Educators will be introduced to best practices on how to engage students in controversial issues related to ethics, values, citizenship, and social responsibility. They will learn how to teach these concepts explicitly and implicitly through various teaching methods and strategies used in the classroom. Additionally, the courses emphasize how to incorporate values into the curriculum outlined by the Ministry of Education and how to highlight and emphasize them as qualities of good citizenship across all social studies subjects. Moreover, the courses emphasize the educator's role as a role model and how their actions and behavioral characteristics impact students of varying ages. Developing a comprehensive approach to involving students in positive global values is a key goal, contributing to individuals' families, communities, nations, and the world .

A person’s ability to successfully manage various situations is closely linked to their self-awareness and understanding of their needs.&nbsp; This self-awareness can only be achieved by being in tune with their emotions, handling them healthily and translating them into constructive behaviors and decisions. This allows them to regulate and direct their emotions towards better behavior, helping them develop themselves, gain greater control over their reactions, avoid impulsive actions and maintain rational thinking without being overwhelmed by emotions. The role of the educational counselor has become pivotal in the learning and teaching process, addressing the behavioral and cognitive challenges students face. Counselors help students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle future challenges and succeed in the job market.&nbsp; This workshop aims to assist participating educators in understanding the concept of 21st-century skills. These include learning and creativity, communication and collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking, flexible thinking and social media management during counseling.

Negative life events significantly contribute to anxiety, stress, feelings of threat and despair. Cognitive-behavioral intervention aims to address these disturbances through cognitive restructuring. Counselors work to adjust students’ thoughts, encouraging them to adopt more adaptive perspectives and behaviors that align with their current circumstances. This workshop explores cognitive-behavioral intervention, covering its concept, stages and techniques - including cognitive restructuring, thought recording, Socratic dialogue, testing ideas and homework assignments. It also examines the application of these methods in counseling, emphasizing their importance and practical implementation in counseling practice.

The World Health Organization affirms that mental well-being is an integral and inseparable part of an individual’s health. It contributes to the balance of emotions, thoughts, impressions and relationships, fostering the development of positive behavior patterns.&nbsp; This workshop seeks to raise participants’ awareness of holistic mental well-being and its relation to an individual’s adaptability to life changes. Participants will explore the concept and dimensions of mental well-being, the PERMA model of holistic well-being and strategies to achieve holistic mental well-being within educational settings. It also aims to discuss the levels of Maslow’s updated hierarchy of human needs and incorporate them into classroom activities to achieve holistic mental well-being in educational settings. Additionally, the PERMA model will be used to enhance students’ mental well-being in educational environments while developing holistic mental well-being skills through activities such as mindfulness, building positive relationships, finding life purpose and achieving goals in educational settings.

The Habits of Mind model seeks to teach students how to think, guiding them to higher levels of effectiveness and instilling advanced mental habits that lead to peak performance. This model enhances students’ reflective thinking skills, enabling them to apply these skills in various learning and teaching situations.&nbsp; This workshop aims to introduce the concept of Habits of Mind, apply strategies to develop these habits in participants and their students during the learning and teaching process and emphasize the importance of developing Habits of Mind in everyday life.

This workshop aims to acquaint participants with essential student counseling services across diverse learning environments, whether in-person or remote. Effectively supporting students during remote learning requires crafting counseling content that adheres to established rules and guidelines, ensuring its professional delivery or execution during support sessions.&nbsp; This workshop also seeks to define the concept of remote psychological counseling, utilize essential supportive applications to deliver remote online counseling content effectively, apply interactive skills with online counseling materials, leverage effective presentation and delivery techniques when creating digital content and discuss the ethical considerations of remote psychological counseling.

Educational researchers acknowledge that students in the classroom vary widely in their understanding of learning outcomes, comprehension and skills proficiency. These disparities, diverse in nature and scope, pose a challenge for teachers in achieving their lesson objectives and ensuring all students meet them. Thus, bridging these gaps is critical for every educator, especially those teaching early grades where foundational skills like reading, writing, speaking and listening are emphasized. These basic skills are essential for all areas of learning and cannot be dispensed with in any field of study. This workshop aims to familiarize participants with the concept of differentiation and its importance in Arabic language instruction. It also equips early-grade teachers with the skills to design learning activities and tasks that cater to the diverse readiness levels, interests, capabilities and abilities of students in the classroom. Additionally, the workshop addresses the philosophy of classroom assessment within the framework of differentiated instruction and how it should be appropriately conducted. This workshop aims to explain the concept of differentiated instruction specifically for Arabic language lessons, demonstrate the importance of differentiation in Arabic language teaching and its impact on student achievement, design Arabic language activities and learning tasks that consider differentiation among students and their varying levels of understanding of learning outcomes and develop strategies for teaching Arabic language skills using differentiated instruction.

Before delving into the term ‘psychosocial support’, it is important to understand its concept. Psychosocial support refers to the dynamic interplay between an individual’s psychological and social dimensions, where each aspect influences and interacts with the other. Therefore, it is crucial for teachers to grasp this concept and develop the necessary skills to provide effective psychosocial support to students, considering their developmental characteristics. This support should be delivered in a simplified manner appropriate for the students and include the design of supportive activities tailored to their needs. This workshop is designed to explore the unique characteristics and traits of children aged 4-9 years. Inquiry-based learning, grounded in John Dewey’s philosophy that “education begins with the curiosity of the learner”, is recognized as one of the best teaching practices for educators. It helps transform classrooms into dynamic learning environments focused on active student learning, making students responsible for their own learning. This workshop aims to empower early-grade teachers to plan, design and implement inquiry-based learning activities. By engaging teachers in practical activities, it raises their awareness of the importance of inquiry in the educational process. During the training, various interactive learning methodologies and activities embodying the principles of inquiry will be applied. These include group work, problem-based and investigative activities, reflection and feedback, questioning, curiosity stimulation, assessment, prediction and interpretation. Analytical studies indicate that future professions are closely related to engineering, which involves building models to address life challenges and design solutions. Innovation Unleashed, AI Powered English Lessons

In 2016, QRTA launched the Teacher Education Professional Diploma (TEPD), which is awarded by the University of Jordan and accredited by the Jordanian Ministry of Education. Developed in collaboration with University College London (UCL) Institute of Education, the TEPD program was granted international accreditation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the largest accreditation council of its kind in the US. The TEPD program goes beyond traditional teacher training. It empowers educators to view the classroom as a launchpad for innovation, leadership, critical thinking and active citizenship. In today’s rapidly evolving world with transforming workplaces, students will encounter entirely new industries driven by technology and societal shifts by the time they graduate. The TEPD program addresses this challenge by preparing teachers for the future (future-ready) and equipping them to guide students through these continuous changes as they become life-long learners. The TEPD program offers two tracks: 1-Subject-Specific Track: Targeting mathematics, science, Arabic, English and early-grade teachers. 2-General Track: Targeting teachers of all other subjects, including arts, PE and ICT and excluding those covered by the Subject Specific Track.

This self-paced distance-learning program is delivered in Arabic, meaning all materials are delivered asynchronously, complemented by synchronous meetings for discussions and Q&amp;A.
