Queen Rania Teacher Academy Launches Leadership Diploma for Principals

The Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) launched its Advanced Leadership Diploma Programme for school principals on Wednesday.

The programme is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Education, and the Chinese "Jack Ma" Foundation, according to a QRTA statement.

One hundred five public school principals and five educational supervisors from Jordan’s regions are currently enrolled in the programme, said the QRTA's chairman, Osama Obeidat.

On the goals, Obeidat noted the Advanced Leadership Diploma came to develop the professional competencies of school principals, and provide them with the appropriate tools to assess and analyze their schools conditions, to detect problems in teaching practices, and to develop procedural plans to address them.

The curriculum, developed by the University of Connecticut, also aims to increase school principals' engagement in the decision-making to improve the students' learning skills.

Launched in 2016, in cooperation with the University of Jordan (UJ), and the Global Affairs Canada, the Advanced Leadership Diploma Programme saw the participation of 325 beneficiaries.
