QRTA - Breaking new ground in the pursuit of Queen Rania Teacher Academy’s academic goals and its global ambitions to improve Arabic language education, we proudly share a major milestone achieved in collaboration with the Islamic Council in Singapore (MUIS). Our Arabic Language team successfully completed specialized training for Arabic language teachers and Curriculum Developers in Singapore, “Planning for Teaching and Assessing Arabic Language Based on the General Framework of Arabic Language Standards for Non-Native Speakers”. This training program focused on three main topics:
- Empowering teachers with cutting-edge strategies to teach each language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) tailored to the context of non-native learners of Arabic based on the latest global strategies for teaching foreign languages.
- Developing and aligning study units in Arabic language textbooks for grades 1-6, based on the Arabic Language Curriculum Standards that was developed by Queen Rania's Academy as Framework for Arabic Language Standards. This aims to ensure a comprehensive and effective learning journey for all students.
- Onsite visits to support the implementation of the four language teaching strategies that teachers were introduced to during the training program.
This training program has been a turning point for Arabic language teachers in the Madrasahs and those involved in the development of Arabic language education in Singapore. It has provided them with practical solutions based on a scientific methodology for developing Arabic language curriculum content and teaching it, relying on specialized standards and strategies that are suitable for their teaching context.
