Deans in public universities visit Queen Rania Teacher Academy

 At the invitation of Queen Rania Teacher Academy, a group of deans of the Faculties of Education from all Jordanian public universities visited the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) campus. They were welcomed by Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Osama Obeidat, and the leadership team.

Also present were Dr. Saleh Al Rawadya, Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at the University of Jordan, Dr. Nawaf Shatnawi, Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at  Al Yarmouk University, Dr. Moustafa Airout Dean of Irbid College – Al Balqa Applied University, Dr. Ahmad Thawaybeh, Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at the Tafila Technical University, Dr. Mahmoud Bani Abdel Rahman, Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at Al Hussein Bin Talal University, Dr. Foad Talafha, Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at Mutah University, Dr. Khawla Dabbas, Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at Al Balqa Applied University, Dr. Mahmoud Jaradat, Vice- Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at the Hashemite University, and Dr. Wael Al Shurman, Vice-Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at Al Al- Bayt University.

This visit comes as part of QRTA’s effort to reach out to all stakeholders, who work in teacher development, and to show the importance of working closely with all educational entities to ensure the best outcomes for teachers and students.

On this occasion, QRTA’s CEO, Dr. Osama Obeidat, said "We are delighted to have the Deans of the Faculties of Education and we look forward to future collaboration with them and other entities in order to serve teachers and our beloved country".

Dr. Saleh Al Rawadya, Dean of Educational Sciences Faculty at the University of Jordan said during the visit "We are very happy with this visit and we look forward for continued cooperation to better serve teachers’ professional development. We also thank Queen Rania Teacher Academy for opening direct dialogue channels with Educational Sciences faculties from all universities in Jordan".

Dr. Moustafa Airout Dean of Irbid  College – Al Balqa Applied University, added " When visiting QRTA, one can bear witness to its ongoing achievements, in collaboration with local and international partners, and the extensive efforts of Her Majesty, Queen Rania Al Abdulla, in improving education in Jordan, which is  key to allowing our nation and generations to compete world wide".

The Deans went on a tour of the QRTA campus, which included an in-depth look into the various facilities and how each serves the students and educators.  The tour was followed by a presentation about the different programs offered at QRTA and an open discussion, where the participants stressed the importance of future cooperation and partnership between QRTA and the faculties of education. The group also discussed the expansion of the pre-service diploma, "Teacher Education Professional Diploma", to universities in Jordan so that a greater number of students from around Jordan can benefit. Participants also discussed collaboration in research and studies and the involvement of university professors in QRTA’s annual conference, "Teacher Skills Forum".

QRTA is a national independent non-profit organization committed to the vision of Her Majesty, Queen Rania Al Abdullah, of empowering educators with the skills, recognition, and support necessary to excel in their classrooms. Since its launch in 2009, QRTA, partners with the Ministry of Education, to offer training programs for teachers in accordance with the educational needs of Jordan and the Arab World. These training programs have reached more than 73,000 teachers across Jordan and the region.
